Environmental Technologist – Wetland Specialist

Bryan is an environmental technologist specializing in biological field studies, habitat surveys, and remediation, supporting Hive’s environmental field programs across the Maritimes.

Matthew Johnson, B.Tech.

Environmental Professional

Matthew is a environmental professional specializing in hazardous materials and mold assessments, while also overseeing Hive’s internal operations and training systems.

Steve Schaller, LEL, B.Tech.

Director of Environmental Services

Steve is the Director of Environmental Services for Nova Scotia, with extensive experience in environmental assessments, remediation, and monitoring across industrial, mining, and power generation sites.

Lachlan Thornton, P.Eng

Project Manager and Moncton Technical Lead

Lachlan is a chemical engineer-in-training with experience in water chemistry, biogas-to-energy projects, and environmental field programs, supporting groundwater monitoring and project deliverables across the region.

Engineering-In-Training (EIT)

Dave is an Engineer-in-Training based in Nova Scotia, with experience in environmental site assessments, hazardous materials testing, and air quality monitoring. He also brings industry experience from NASA, SpaceX, Tesla, and Lockheed Martin.

Office Administrator

Nicole is Hive’s Office Administrator, managing accounts receivable and payable while coordinating administrative operations for all three offices from the Moncton head office

Lauren is a Sustainable Design Engineer and Engineer-in-Training who prepares environmental reports, supports field programs, and contributes to project deliverables at Hive Engineering

Julia Brennan, M.A., Ph.D.

Archaeologist Lead and Environmental Scientist

Julia is an archaeologist and environmental scientist whose work bridges land use, contamination, and cultural landscapes. At Hive, she leads project design, fieldwork, and reporting with a focus on integrating environmental science and cultural insight.
